SHIPPING POLICIES All shipments will be delivered curbside only. Delivery does not include inside delivery, uncrating or installation. Please make arrangements (personnel & equipment) for unloading at your location. Liftgate service can be arranged in advance for an additional fee. Since this site offers you everything, not just the standard items, some items may need to be manufactured and may require a lead time prior to factory direct shipment. If delivery of your shipment is date sensitive, or is your shipping address requires special consideration (such as being rural or difficult to access), please contact Customer Service at 1-800-407-4748. If you request services from the freight carrier, you will be responsible for additional charges. ChefGeneral.com is not responsible for additional freight bill charges such as: liftgate, inside delivery, redelivery, reconsignment (change of address) storage, etc. when not pre-arranged by ChefGeneral. If you would like overnight or 2nd day delivery, an extra charge will be added to your order. Very large, heavy or equipment items may not be eligible for overnight or 2nd day shipment. Express orders received after 2PM will be processed the following day. ChefGeneral.com typically ships via United Parcel Service and a variety of common carriers. We reserve the right to select the shipping method on all shipments, based on pricing and route availabilty.
LIFTGATE Freight delivered via common carrier may require liftgate service. If you choose liftgate service a fee of $150 (commercially zoned address) or $200 (non-commercially zoned address) will be added to your order. (note that all schools, churches and other places of worship are considered non-commercial, even when located in a commercial areas.) Consider selecting liftgate service if your facility does not have a loading dock. Otherwise, you will need to make alternative arrangements for unloading at your location. Liftgate service unloads you shipment to the curb, it is not inside delivery.
REDELIVERY OR RECONSIGNMENT If the freight carrier attempts delivery and is unable to deliver for reasons that are within your control, redelivery fees may apply. Once a shipment is in transit, new fees may apply if there is a change in the delivery address (also known as reconsignment).
CANCELLED OR REFUSED ORDERS If you cancel or refuse any part of your order after it has been shipped, you will be responsible for the full amount of round trip shipping and handling charges, plus any applicable restocking fees (minimum of 25%). Regularly stocked items are normally eligible for a full refund. Returned product and equipment must be in new, unused condition and must be in its original packaging. All returns will be inspected for damage or usage prior to issuance of a credit or refund. If your return request is not made in advance, ChefGeneral.com may not be able to process credit or provide a refund for your returned product. Please note that we can process returns and refunds only for items purchased from ChefGeneral.com. Returns for Home Customers or Orders Shipped to a Residential Address: Before returning any product, you must contact Customer Service for instructions. Requests for returns must be made within 30 days of receipt of your order. A 25% restocking fee will apply to the return of any regularly stocked item. Special order items are not returnable.
PRODUCT WARRANTIES All products sold by ChefGeneral come with the standard manufacturers warranty, please review prior to purchasing.
PRICING All prices are in US dollars. Rest assured that we will always place your order with the best available price. Prices are subject to change without notice. ChefGeneral is not responsible for typographical error.
PAYMENT OPTIONS Credit Cards: We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Purchase Order: Chef General.com does not offer credit terms, however, there are some exceptions, usually for government and large institutions. If you meet these requirements and would like to pay by purchase order, please contact us. Note: Debtor is required to pay ChefGeneral.com for attorney fees and cost incurred to collect bad debts. Paying by Check: Please contact Customer Service if you would like to pay by check. Paying by COD: Chef General.com does not ship COD.
WHEN WILL I BE CHARGED? ChefGeneral will charge your order at time of check out.
TAX ChefGeneral.com will charge sales tax for customers located in the state of Pennsylvania, (PA) only. If you are a resident of any other state you will be responsible to declare this purchase on an individual basis on your own. ChefGeneral.com is not liable and or responsible for your action if you are delinquent in this matter.
DELIVERY GUIDELINES - IMPORTANT Care is taken when packing your order and all equipment is inspected before shipping, but on occasion a shipment may be lost or damaged in transit. At the time your shipment is received, it is your responsibility to follow these guidelines. Before you sign the delivery receipt (or bill of lading), and before the driver departs: VERIFY THE NUMBER OF CARTONS. OPEN, UNPACK AND THOROUGHLY INSPECT YOUR SHIPMENT FOR ANY DAMAGE. If damage or shortages are discovered, you must make a notation on all copies of the freight bill describing the damage or shortage in detail. It is your right to refuse any shipment that shows signs of damage or shortage at the time of delivery. We strongly recommending refusing a damaged order in lieu of filing a freight claim. UPON SIGNING, YOU - OR ANY INDIVIDUAL ASSUMING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SHIPMENT BY SIGNING THE DELIVERY RECEIPT -ARE ACKNOWLEDGING THAT THE SHIPMENT WAS RECEIVED IN GOOD CONDITION AND WITHOUT DAMAGE OR SHORTAGE. THIS SIGNATURE TRANSFERS LIABILITY FROM THE CARRIER, AND CHEFGENERAL.COM TO YOU. PLEASE READ AND MAKE THIS DOCUMENT AVAILABLE TO THE PARTY RESPONSIBLE FOR DELIVERY ACCEPTANCE. If the driver demands to leave before all portions of your shipment have been inspected, note on the delivery receipt (near your signature) that the driver would not allow for inspection. DO NOT ALLOW THE DRIVER TO LEAVE! DO NOT SIGN UNTIL A CAREFUL INSPECTION, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO UNPACKING ALL ITEMS, AND CARTONS IS COMPLETE AND DEEMED DAMAGE FREE. If you have questions during delivery, please call Customer Service 1-800-407-4748. If concealed damage is discovered within 24 hours: Save all shipping cartons and packing material. Immediately request an inspection by the carrier and file a freight claim. If packing materials are not saved, your opportunity to recover damages will be severely limited and in some cases may disqualify any actions entirely. Failure to follow any of the above mentioned guidelines will also restrict your ability to return merchandise or file a claim for damages as acceptance of this terms and conditions is understood when a purchase with ChefGeneral.com is made. The freight carrier is responsible for loss or damage. All shortages or damaged deliveries must be telephoned to ChefGeneral.com at 1-800-407-4748 within 2 days of receipt of shipment. ChefGeneral.com cannot be held responsible for damaged merchandise that is signed for as free and clear of damage as you have accepted full responsibility for this shipment.
